There were over 1,800 bills and resolutions filed during the past legislative session. Some bills filed were only one sentence in length, while others were over 300 pages.

Listed below is my stance on several issues from my campaign for State Representative:

Taxes & Governmental Efficiency
As the only Certified Public Accountant in the Missouri State Legislature, I am committed to maintaining an efficient, effective State Government. My experience as an Auditor allows me to bring accountability to government and eliminate governmental waste. I will continue to support lower taxes, which means more money back in your pocket. My belief is that government should spend within its means and maintain a balanced budget.

Protecting our Seniors
Our seniors, many of whom live on a fixed income, should not be forced to sell their homes due to an increase in their property taxes. Legislation should also be introduced to protect our seniors from "financial advisors" who place seniors' retirement funds in unsuitable investments. I will fight to take care of our seniors during retirement.

Our children are our future and quality education for our children is of the utmost importance in our community. Missouri should also not be the 44th ranked state in teacher pay. As your State Representative, I will continue to support funding for our public schools and universities.

Economic Development
Responsible, planned economic growth is vital for Johnson County. Missouri's government should continue to eliminate unnecessary red tape and barriers to new economic development. As your State Representative, I would be proactive in promoting new business, new jobs and economic development in Johnson County. I will fight for our fair share of governmental resources. I have been endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business and Missouri Chamber of Commerce for my pro-jobs stance in the legislature.

As a veteran of the Missouri Army National Guard and the grandson of a WWII veteran, I understand the many sacrifices the men and women of our Armed Forces have made to our great State and Country. Their commitment and sacrifices should be commended and we should support programs and aid to honor our active duty military and veterans.

I support better access to affordable healthcare for Missourians. Every citizen should have the opportunity to have affordable, quality healthcare coverage. By curtailing frivolous lawsuits against our doctors and nurses by opportunistic litigators, we can work toward reducing the cost of healthcare coverage.

Illegal Immigration
22,000 – The number of illegal immigrants in Missouri according to the US Census Bureau.  $116,000,000 - The annual amount these illegal immigrants cost Missouri taxpayers, of which $1.4 MILLION is used to incarcerate Missouri's illegal immigrants.

Missourians should not have to pay for illegal immigrants and illegal immigrants should not be eligible for state aid. I will support legislation to keep illegal immigrants out of Missouri.

Agriculture is the backbone of Missouri's economy and the State's #1 industry. State government should not hinder our farmers and I support legislation to eliminate burdensome regulations to our farming community. I did not support Proposition B in 2010 and am honored to have received the 2012 and 2010 Friend of Agriculture Award from the Missouri Farm Bureau.

Protecting Life
I fully support protecting the rights of unborn children.

Family Values
My parents, both retired Missouri schoolteachers, always instilled the values of hard-work, honesty and community service to me. As a conservative Republican, I will continue to support Johnson County and Pettis County's traditional family values.

Second Amendment Rights
I support the right for law-abiding citizens to own and carry arms under the Second Amendment.
